When vocalizing that there is something to SEE, Tyler drops the initial S sound and adds a W. What I hear instead of SEE is WE. I hear it often. Broken record during my day, really. If there is something boiling in the pot on the stove, he is under my feet repeating, "WE!" If there is something he wants from his room and can't reach, he urgently beckons with his hand, "WE!" If he has built something with his toys that needs showing, "WE!". If he has a hammer in hand and wants me to watch him pound yet another surface in this house, "WE!"...
I know that such "WE"s mean, drop-everything-mom-and-come-see-something-with-me. It means something is important or interesting from his perspective. I slow down for the moment and follow his gesturing pint-size hand. I realize, again, that this stage of him seeking me out to show something is fleeting. I am lucky to have this little guy as the other half of my WE during the day.
Such "WE"s also get me thinking twice about what I am showing him. What do I deem important to fill our together time? Am I spending my time wisely and making sure that WE SEE great things? Hope so.
